Situated at the confluence of the Volga River and Oka River, the city of Nizhny Novgorod was founded in 1221. The city was one of several host cities for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia but Nizhny Novgorod is more famous for its well preserved 16th century Kremlin.

Ancient fortress from the 16th Century, one of the oldest Kremlin in Russia. Entering from the Ivanovskaya Tower entrance, we walked upthe winding path to the point nearest to the Chasovaya Tower, where we get to enjoy the view of the city and the confluence of the Volga River and Oka River.

The eternal flame and war memorial
The oldest temple in Nizhny Novgorod - the Sobor Arkhangel Mikhail (Cathedral of Archangel Michael). It was built as a wooden church when the city was founded and was later rebuilt in stone.
